CHIEFS TO RETIRE #58
The Kansas City Chiefs will formally retire #58, formerly worn by Derrick Thomas, on December 6th during a halftime ceremony. His family will also be presented Thomas' Hall of Fame ring. Thomas, the 4th overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, recorded 126.5 sacks in his 11 seasons with the Chiefs & made the Pro Bowl nine times. He died of a blood clot a month after an automobile accident in 2000. He will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio this August.
