POLICE CHIEF: "THIS IS OFFICIALLY A MURDER/SUICIDE"
It's now official, Sahel Kazemi shot Steve McNair 4 times, then turned the gun on herself. Nashville Police Chief, Ronald Serpas, said Kazemi had told a co-worker at Dave & Buster's her "life was all messed up & I may end it all". Too bad this co-worker didn't report this conversation to authorities. Serpas said it appeared her life was "spinning out of control & she had recently found out McNair was carrying on with another young woman". Apparently Kazemi had followed the woman last week & Thursday evening she bought a 9MM handgun in the parking lot at Dave & Buster's during her shift. The man who sold the handgun wasn't identified. Chief Serpas noted McNair had no defensive wounds, so they believed he was asleep when he was shot in the right temple, killing him instantly. Kazemi then shot him twice in the chest & then fired one shot into his left temple. Kazemi sat next to McNair on the couch & shot herself once in the right temple & fell onto the floor, the gun under her body. Gunshot residue tests showed she had fired the weapon that was recovered & all entrance wounds were at point-blank range. All shell casings recovered in the condo were fired from her gun & ballistics matched the recovered slugs.
It's very sad to see another fallen idol. Steve McNair wasn't going to the Hall of Fame & he certainly won't win any husband or father-of-the-year awards. But his record breaking college & professional legacy are tarnished forever. This also shows how little we know about others we come in contact with on a daily basis. You & the family stop in for dinner, your waitress takes your order, then goes out into the parking lot to buy a handgun she will use to murder another human being & then herself. She comes back inside & serves your dinner. The tip you left might have bought a box of ammunition. It's frightening to see a person snap like this, unable to deal with their life in any way other than with violence. It's also pathetic seeing another prominent person, who is so selfish, believing these types of relationships are O.K. since life is really all about them isn't it? Don't let that hurt, harm or humiliation suffered by family & friends even enter into your thought process, just be sure you're happy right this minute. And if you're not, throw your current significant other on the scrap heap & go find another. You deserve it, you are/were a famous athlete/singer/actor/businessman right? Damn right, because it's all about you. A series of very bad decisions, some selfish, some desperate, each very harmful to so many.
