CHIEFS SIGN CASSEL TO 6-YEAR DEAL

The Kansas City Chiefs finally made it official, Matt Cassel is their franchise quarterback & to demonstrate it, they signed the former Patriot backup to a 6-year contract. The deal is said to be worth $63 million, $28 million of it guaranteed. Cassel was labeled the Chiefs franchise player & was on schedule to make $14.65 million in 2009 because of this designation, but as all franchise tags go, it was only a 1-year deal. So the Chiefs are set at quarterback for years to come, now they need to add more playmakers around him to crawl back into playoff contention.
