MICHAEL VICK.......THERE, I SAID IT
I said about six weeks ago I wasn't going to write about Michael Vick or the other overexposed QB(you know, he wears a 4) until something concrete about their status could be reported. Michael Vick met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in New Jersey today & the word is, after serving a 4-game suspension, he will be reinstated. Whether someone signs Vick is another story, he comes with gigantic baggage that will be a public relations nightmare for whoever signs him. I stand by my prediction of him signing with the Orlando UFL team, knocking the rust off & then concentrate on playing NFL football next season.
It has been reported Vick has agreed to do a series of public service announcements for the ASPCA. PETA has demanded an examination with a neurosurgeon to make sure Vick is sincere in his contrition. This is the same group that sent President Obama an 'insect recovery kit' the day after he killed a fly during an interview. So maybe the public will let Vick slide on that request.
So now ESPN can show Michael Vick football highlights & stop showing his 'perp walk' 8 or 10 times a day.
