BRETT FAVRE TO 'REMAIN RETIRED'......REALLY? HONESTLY?

Brett Favre finally made it official this evening, he's staying retired. He called Minnesota Vikings' coach, Brad Childress to inform him of his final decision. He also spoke with ESPN's Ed Werder, telling him it "wasn't the recently repaired shoulder that prompted my decision, it was my ankles, knees & back that just couldn't take any more punishment. I knew with the way I was feeling, there was no way I'd ever be able to play at the high level that's expected".

Favre had started an NFL record 269 consecutive games. He holds every major career passing record including 469 touchdown passes. He led the Green Bay Packers to 7 division championships, 4 NFC title games & 2 Super Bowls, winning one. Favre was elected to 10 Pro Bowls & is the only player to win 3 consecutive MVP awards. But how many of you knew his middle name was Lorenzo?

Favre told NFL Network's Steve Mariucci tonight that he intended to continue throwing & planned to stay in playing shape. So does Favre really intend to stay retired? We'll see. If the an injury should befall a quarterback from the right team, we may see Favre out there on Sunday's. Personally I hope he stays retired, I think he's damaged his legacy somewhat & a lot of fans grew tired of this off season's indecision. Stay on your riding lawn mower down in Mississippi, spend time with your family & mend your relationship with Packer fans.
