WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH DEION SANDERS?

I'll have to preface what I'm about to write here with a slight disclaimer. I'm a huge Deion Sanders fan, I think he's the best cornerback of the last 50 years & a great return man as well. That said, I'd like to know just what in the hell is going on with Deion? He said on the NFL Network's "NFL Total Access" a few weeks ago there were two teams willing to pay Michael Crabtree the kind of money he wanted all along, much more than the Niners were willing to pay him. His agent is Eugene Parker, Michael Crabtree is also a client of Parker. The Niners filed a formal charge of tampering against the Jets based on what Sanders said on the NFL Network. I should also mention Sanders is employed by the network which is owned by the league.

Today, All-American wide receiver, Dez Bryant, from Oklahoma State, was ruled ineligible by Oklahoma State & the NCAA. The NCAA said Bryant "failed to openly disclose to the NCAA the full details of his interactions with a former NFL player, not affiliated with Oklahoma State". In other words, he lied to an NCAA investigator. Take a wild guess who that NFL player was? Yep, it was Deion, what the hell is going on?

Deion said tonight "the kid panicked, he panicked man. He thought it was a violation to come over to my house & it isn't. He said no, that he hadn't been over here & I said, yeah, he had been over here. I don't lie & he panicked".

An obvious question here would be; why is the NCAA asking Bryant if he hangs out at Deion's house? What's that all about? Now this kid, who was going to be a certain top-10 draft pick, whether he came out this season or after his senior year, is ineligible. How long he stays ineligible is unknown, OSU can petition the NCAA to reinstate Bryant as early as next week. I've never heard of such a penalty, so I can't speculate as to the severity of it.

Is Deion recruiting Bryant to his PrimeTimeU, the workout program that is also an NFL Network reality show? Is Sanders steering Bryant toward agent Eugene Parker? It should be noted that Michael Crabtree was on the PrimeTimeU reality show & also had Eugene Parker as an agent. Since the NFL does everything within their power to stay on the good side of the NCAA, especially with coaches, they had better figure out what went wrong here. It's a lead-pipe-cinch Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy won't take too kindly to losing the best skill position player at OSU since Barry Sanders. You may even hear from the Cowboy's largest benefactor, T. Boone Pickens, who has given the athletic department over $160 million in the last 5 years. Bryant was the Biletnikoff Award runner-up to Crabtree last season when he caught 87 passes for 1,480 yards & 19 touchdowns. Bryant also returned 2 punts for touchdowns, he's a monster with a football in his hands.

If Deion Sanders has somehow become radioactive with amateur players everyone needs to know about it so this sort of thing doesn't happen again. I hope the NCAA will grant Bryant some of his eligibility very soon. This is a weird one with some very nasty consequences.
