SUNDAY MORNING QUICKIES

Kansas City safety, Jarrad Page is inactive for today's game with the Washington Redskins. A sore shoulder that limited him in practice this week hasn't responded enough to allow him to play. Veteran Jon McGraw will start in his place. Brandon Albert is also inactive, in fact he didn't make the trip to D.C. I have repeatedly had visions of Albert Haynesworth shooting the gap between Mike Goff & Rudy Niswanger. My buddy Chuck has had them too. I bet Matt Cassel has had similar visions. Undersized Wade Smith will start in place of Albert at left tackle. The Chiefs brought Barry Richardson off the practice squad for depth. That's how pathetic this team is, Richardson is brought in for depth. Richardson is the true definition of a 'warm body' in the NFL. I suspect our Chiefs will stay close, but in the end, find a way to lose.

According to FOXSports' Jay Glazer, an Oakland fire sale could be in the offing come tomorrow. The NFL trading deadline is Tuesday at 4 PM & tho I don't see a flurry of deals, a few could happen. The name Glenn Dorsey is showing up in newspapers around the league.

I found this to be rather disturbing. As I wheeled around the dial this morning looking for the Chiefs propaganda show, there it was, on the Springfield Missouri FOX affiliate. Cowboys Special Edition with Jerry Jones. Wow, the tentacles reach pretty far north don't they? I'd say it has more to do with the lame football being played in this state with the Rams & Chiefs. Still, I was taken aback by it.

Last night I wrote about my interest in the Vikings today. I misstated that the Ravens would be starting their 3rd string left tackle. That's really not a proper description of the situation. Jared Gaither, the starter won't play due to a neck stinger injury. Adam Terry started the season as his backup, but he was injured. The Ravens are moving Michael Oher, their 1st round draft pick, over from right tackle. Oher isn't the starter at right tackle, but he has taken a bunch of snaps over there. So to call Oher a 3rd stringer, really isn't right, but he is the 3rd guy in this position this season. I still like the Vikings -3. The Big Apple duo of the Giants & Jets, are my other plays today.
