CHIEFS DEAL TANK TYLER TO CAROLINA

The Chiefs traded defensive tackle DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler to the Carolina Panthers for a 5th round pick in the 2010 draft. Tyler was a 3rd round pick in the 2007 draft. Tyler was the leading tackler in the D-line this season. Scott Pioli & Todd Haley continue to purge the Chiefs of players from the Carl Peterson/Herm Edwards regime. Bernard Pollard, a 2nd round pick in 2006, waived by the Chiefs last month, started for the Texans yesterday in their 28-17 win at Cincinnati. He had 6 tackles. Turk McBride, a 2nd round pick in 2007, started for Detroit yesterday, had 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks & 2 other QB hits. If Tyler excels at Carolina, one has to wonder if their "problem" in Kansas City was coaching. There are rumors about Derrick Johnson & possibly Glenn Dorsey being on the trading block too. The NFL's trading deadline is 4 PM Tuesday afternoon.
