IT HAD TO HAPPEN, LJ HAS A TODD HALEY MELTDOWN & SO DO I

It had to happen, the 37-7 loss today was the largest margin of victory in the San Diego-Kansas City series of 50-years. It was the 2nd worst ass-whippin' any Chiefs' team ever absorbed in Arrowhead. Someone put a microphone in Larry Johnson's face in the locker room & he let it fly. "This is what this organization has been doing since I've been here. This is my 3rd head coach in 7 years. It seems like this is what we keep doing, going back to the drawing board. We bring in new coaches, new organization, new schemes, new mentality, new attitude" Johnson said.

Later, he sent this out on Twitter: "My father has got more credentials than most of these pro coaches. Google my father." Later he left this beauty:  "My father played for the coach from 'Remember the Titans', our coach played golf. My father played for the Redskins briefly, our coach nuthin'".

Is this just typical old LJ whining or does he speak for a few veteran players in Todd Haley's locker room? That brutal crap you watched Sunday is just the beginning of something that can become even uglier. Is Haley in over his head? Can 22 guys off the street win 2 games? Haley had better find them, because if he doesn't win 3 games this season, any credibility he might have had with the fans will be gone forever.

Can someone explain to me how Denver replaced 8 starters on defense, changed their scheme & are light years better than they were last season? How did the Green Bay Packers change their defense to a 3-4 like the Chiefs & they're pitching shutouts? The Chiefs give up 400+ yards a game & the line coach is held over from the "All we got was 10 sacks" defense? Haley hand picks Clancy Pendergast to run his defense & not only do they absolutely stink, but Arizona's defense is better since Pendergast departed, what gives? Jarrad Page is deactivated for the game while his replacement, Jon McGraw, gets his pants pulled down by Darren Sproles in the open field? Did Tyson Jackson join the witness protection program? He hasn't been heard from in weeks. If this is progress, I'm not seeing it. Did you know that Jared Allen and Jimmy Wilkerson are in the top ten in QB sacks? Did you know linebacker Keyaron Fox scored his 2nd TD of the season yesterday against Minnesota, he got a Super Bowl ring last year but he couldn't play for us either. Bernard Pollard started his 2nd consecutive game for the Texans yesterday, they've won both games. He couldn't play for us either. Wilkerson, Fox, McBride & Pollard were all released, we got zip for them. Progress? I don't see it.

I've been saying all along to give Haley a chance, the lack of talent wasn't his fault. But when he trades, releases or deactivates some of his better players, one has to ask "What the Hell is going on over at One Arrowhead Drive"? I think there's a real chance he may not survive into year 2 of his contract. Clark Hunt has a $375 million renovation to finish on Arrowhead & it may be a freakin' ghost town by the time it's finished. Being patient is one thing, but asking people to shell out good money in a horrible economy to watch the worst football that's ever been played in that stadium, yes, I said the worst, is a truly bad business model.

Mercifully, the Chiefs have their bye week next Sunday(the Bye is favored by 6 1/2), so we won't be subjected to any additional pain for 13 more days. Todd Haley had better choose his words well in his Monday news conference, he is on dangerously thin ice with the fans.  I think Larry Johnson's quotes might fire up a base that's just about reached it's losing limit. God knows this football team doesn't inspire anyone.
