HUGE HAWKEYE INJURY, HUGE STANFORD INJURY & PLAY ADJUSTMENT

The Iowa Hawkeyes' Rose Bowl hopes just took a major hit. Starting quarterback Ricky Stansi suffered a leg injury after being tackled in the end zone. He fumbled & Northwestern recovered for a touchdown. Stansi hasn't returned, backup James Vandenberg is in right now about halfway thru the 3rd quarter with the Hawkeyes trailing 14-10.

Stanford lost their starting middle linebacker, Clinton Snyder, after he sustained a knee injury in Thursday's practice. Snyder, a 42-game starter & the Cardinal leading tackler will be out for the remainder of the season. Stanford, already dangerously thin at linebacker, will move starting fullback, Owen Marecic to the middle spot. He might also play some fullback, so we could see a 2-way player today.

Since the above injury might cripple an already taxed defense, I made Oregon(-7) my 2nd biggest play for today. Houston(-2) is the big play.

USC lost the PAC-10's leading sacker, Everson Griffin, to a turf toe injury. I made the Trojans(-10) my smallest play today & ruled the Miami Hurricanes out altogether.
