MNF UNWATCHABLE, USA TODAY POLL WRONG & LJ REACHES NEW LOW

The only reason I had the MNF game on last night was because I had a wager on the Browns. As bad as the Chiefs-Raiders was Sunday, watching the Browns is really tough to do. After the Pittsburgh & San Diego games, the Chiefs face Denver, Buffalo & Cleveland, all winnable games. The Browns are easily the worst team in the league, decidedly worse than Oakland, St. Louis, Detroit or Kansas City. If Cleveland comes into Arrowhead & defeats the Chiefs, Haley should lose his job, end of discussion. Saw a great sign in Cleveland; "Hey Baltimore, please take this team too", referring to former owner Art Modell's decision to move his then Cleveland Browns to Baltimore in 1996. Cleveland was granted an expansion team, which they named the Browns again, in 1999. Brady Quinn couldn't have played worse in his first start after being benched in week 4. He also committed a cheap shot cut block on Raven LB Terrell Suggs after throwing an interception. Look for the commissioner to fine him at least $10K like he did on Brett Favre for a cut block violation.

Tennessee Titan's owner Bud Adams had the boom lowered on him very quickly for his unbelievably stupid antics Sunday. Adams flipped off the fans Sunday from his private box. Not from behind glass, he got out of his chair, walked into the sunlight & flipped the bird with both hands directly at the fans. His fans! Yesterday afternoon a few minutes after Adams issued a public apology, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell whacked Adams for $250,000. If I was a Titan ticket holder, I don't know that I'd take his apology as being sincere.

In injury news, Tracy Porter, Saints cornerback, got good news after an MRI showed his knee was only sprained. No torn ligaments mean Porter could return in 3 weeks. Boise State tight end Richie Brockel will miss the remainder of the season with an injured knee. Missouri WR Jared Perry will miss 3-5 weeks with a small fracture of the tibia. If Mizzou makes a bowl game, it's possible Perry could return. As the Tigers' other wideout, Perry had 46 catches for 696 yards & 6 touchdowns, so his production will be missed. Danario Alexander is having a monster year at the other wideout spot, 3rd in the nation in yardage & 11 touchdowns. Wes Kemp, the slot receiver, will need to become more of a impact player asap if the Tigers are to win their remaining 2 games against Iowa State & Kansas.

I'm going to need an explanation of just how the voters justify the rankings in the USA Today poll. Penn State, who lost 2 games, both at home, is ranked 12th. Wisconsin, has lost 2 games as well, 1 at home & 1 at Ohio State. No big deal? Iowa, also a 2-game loser, beat both of these teams & beat them on the road. Iowa didn't lose a game until they lost QB Ricky Stanzi two weeks ago. How do you vote Penn State and Wisconsin ahead of the Hawkeyes? I don't have a real high opinion of the Big-10 in general, that's been true for about 5 years & having 4 conference teams in the top-15 is ludicrous. They should be exposed come bowl season. But that said, there's still no reason for Iowa to be ranked 4th of the 4 Big-10 teams in the USA Today poll.

Anyone out there who is still a Larry Johnson supporter pay attention. This lowlife, who said on "The Dan Patrick Show" last week, "I'm a big Todd Haley fan & supporter, I'm a huge Scott Pioli fan" & apologized to Kansas City fans for his gay slurs on Twitter has struck again. Last night on his Twitter account Johnson gloated about his imminent signing with Cincinnati, their December game vs. K.C. & thumbed his nose at the  Chiefs. He 'Tweeted' "Gonna gallop all over the Chiefs. Cleat prints on their chest, mud in their face masks". What a guy. The Bengals had become a feel good story in the NFL this season. Coach Marvin Lewis' team had turned the corner, no more arrests, no more suspensions. Cincinnati has the lead in the AFC North with a 5-0 division record. They're in the driver's seat for a playoff spot, possibly the 2nd seed & a bye week. I like Lewis & Carson Palmer, I even like Chad Ochocinco & all his shenanigans, but I can't root for the Bengals now. This lying, scumbag parasite(I've always had a problem expressing myself) is going to get a free ride into the playoffs & the Chiefs are going to pay most of his salary. Then he taunts his old teammates, what a classless creep. If he had signed with Cincinnati, showed some class & moved on, I'd be totally O.K. with whatever LJ did after the Chiefs released him. But 'Mr. Chip-on-his-shoulder' has to be a hater, he needs to blame someone else for his shortcomings both as a player & as a human being.
