A WAGER ON THE LAS VEGAS BOWL? YOU BET!
The MAACO Las Vegas Bowl will kickoff in about 2 hours & I have a wager on it. Mike Riley's Oregon State Beavers were just 4 points from going to the Rose Bowl & I really like them in this game giving less than a field goal, 2 1/2 points to be exact. Their opponent, BYU, is appearing in their 5th straight Las Vegas Bowl. How happy are the Mormons about returning to Las Vegas again & again? They're 2-2 in this bowl. BYU QB Max Hall led the Cougards to a shocking upset of Oklahoma opening weekend but have been somewhat disappointing since, finishing 3rd in the Mountain West Conference.
Oregon State under Riley are 5-0 in bowl games & between the Rogers' brothers, James & Jacquizz & QB Sean Canfield, I think OSU will show the nation just how potent they are right now against a team that hasn't played in over a month. This beaver team willreturn 19 starters next season & with their stout out of conference schedule that includes Boise State & TCU, they could well be in contention for one of the BCS Bowls next year, no more trips to Vegas.
