CHIEFS' FANS GET THE FINGER? ON FAN APPRECIATION DAY?
Sunday was 'Fan Appreciation Day' out at Arrowhead, one member of the Chiefs had his own way of showing his appreciation, in keeping with the holiday spirit. Jack Harry of KSHB-TV in Kansas City reported last night he had received 2 emails from fans who sit on the first row behind the Chiefs' bench. Both emails said Todd Haley gave them the finger. Mr. Harry asked for a complete description of what transpired, one fan sent in a 3-page explanation of the alleged incident. The man said he has had Chiefs' season tickets since 1965, he said he never curses at the players, he never drinks at the games & that he is pretty upset Haley's response to his shout of "you're doing a lousy job" was getting the finger from the Chiefs' head coach. If this story is true, Scott Pioli ought to prescribe some anger management, his fuse is just too short.
Two more thoughts on the Chiefs' 'Doormat Defense', Before Sunday's record-breaking performance, Cleveland's Jerome Harrison had 749 yards & one(1) touchdown in 4 full seasons. His 286 yards & 3 touchdowns Sunday versus the 'Doormat Defense' was the 3rd highest total in NFL history. What do Green Bay's Clay Mathews, Washington's Brian Orakpo, Houston's Brian Cushing & St. Louis' James Laurinaitis have in common? Well two things actually, all 4 are serious contenders for the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, making a major impact on their respective teams. Secondly, they were all drafted after the Chiefs selected Tyson Jackson. Nothing more needs to be said, I don't want to be accused of piling on our Chiefs.
