TO MARTY, DON, KEVIN, MARY, FELLOW BLOGGERS, WRITERS, LOYAL READERS & MY WIFE, I SINCERELY THANK YOU
After an on-going struggle of several months, I now have a fully operational PC again thanks to my nephew Marty. He came down for the weekend & helped get my new CPU up & running plus a whole lot more. He networked my computers to go back & forth, retrieved all the vital files off my crashed hard drive. Installed some ultra-quick shortcuts with new software & taught this semi-clueless geezer how everything worked in a way even I could comprehend. We watched a lot of basketball, a couple of movies, had some tasty chow & great conversation. Linda & I always love seeing our nieces & nephews & always welcome their visits. Thank you for your help Marty, I sincerely appreciate it.
That I have a functioning PC is also because of a very conscientious & honest eBay dealer. If you are ever in need of another CPU at a reasonable price, get on eBay & search for brookwood98. Don is a superior eBay seller, his stuff works & should you have a problem with anything you purchased from him, he'll replace it or give you a refund. He has completed over 2,800 deals on eBay, all with 100% satisfaction. I've bought & sold on eBay for years & Don is as good as I've ever dealt with. Thank you Don, I really appreciate your patience & respect your integrity.
So now I have a "new" CPU that is super-fast, unfortunately the graphics & resolution it's capable of producing, my 10-year old CRT monitor can't begin to display. Enter Kevin, my old Vegas bud who just offered me his old(like a year old) 19" LCD flat screen. It will be coming soon, all the way from Milwaukee. I hate writing on my laptop, but with a new CPU, Kevin's old monitor & a brand new keyboard, I'm back in business the way I like it. Thank you Kevin, with your help I look forward to seeing everything a little more clearly.
I'm involved in a non-football project with Mary, a lifelong friend of Linda's. We started a few months ago, but the untimely crash of my computer put everything on hold. She is patiently waiting for my portion of our little endeavor so she can make it presentable. Thank you Mary for your help & patience, I'm going to get to work on my part asap.
My personal thanks go out to the folks at The Kansas City Star, Upon Further Review, & all the other websites who have sent encouraging emails & invited me to write a piece for them now & again. I now understand just how difficult it is to write 12-15 thousand words a week. Thank you Barry, Elizabeth, Randy & especially Martin, I sincerely respect what you do day after day, week after week.
After 13 months & over 450 articles, I want to thank those of you who spend a little of your day with me & the words I pound out, whether it's here or on other sites. Saturday produced an all-time record here for a weekend day's traffic & it surpassed the old mark by almost 30%. For that, I thank you. I'd also like to thank the readers who've helped me by posting my web address on their social network pages. Couldn't have done it without your help. To those who want an "open comment policy", sorry, it's not going to happen, I'm not going to allow unfiltered profanity & some really hateful crap that a few readers insist on posting going onto this page. If you want to call me clueless, opinionated or idiotic, I'll be glad to post that, but not with the sexual references & F-Bombs, O.K.? They do nothing to further the discussion.
I love writing this blog as well as for the other sites. After 20 years of working in Vegas casinos, we came to central Missouri to live a more quiet life as we approached retirement. Our partnership with my sister & brother-in-law to build a few homes on the Lake, then kick back & enjoy ourselves has been delayed because of the economy & the housing market. Built two beautiful homes, but still have 3 vacant lots without many prospects right now. About a year & a half ago, Linda suggested I write a football blog & she kept after me, encouraging me to try it. I'm glad she did, it opened up so many things I never would have experienced otherwise. Sometimes it's difficult to come up with something that not only interests you, but an idea that excites me as well. If it ever becomes tedious or boring for you or me, I will shut it down. But right now, I've got a lot of NFL Draft posts to write & that excites me. Thanks babe.
We'll be back to football on Monday. Any questions or comments? Submit them in the comments section or you can email me at rich@richsfootballreport.com
