MOCK DRAFT - FIRST ROUND

You asked for it, so here it comes, my dart-throwing, wildest attempt at picking 32-first round selections. If I get one-third of them right, I'll feel like I won something, The best way of explaining what a mock draft is, would be to say it's an exercise in logical speculation. Here we go.

1.   St. Louis--Sam Bradford--QB--Oklahoma--New QB's put asses in the seats, something the Rams need to do.

2.   Detroit--Ndamakong Suh--DL--Nebraska--Best player in this draft & the best D-lineman I've seen in many years.

3.   Tampa Bay--Gerald McCoy--DL--Oklahoma--Should become a better pass rusher than Suh down the line.

4.   Washington--Trent Williams--OT--Oklahoma--More athletic & quick, best in a zone blocking scheme.

5.   Kansas City--Russell Okung--OT--Oklahoma State--Solid player, solid citizen, future Pro Bowl performer.

6.   Seattle--Bryan Bulaga--OT--Iowa--#1 need is replacing perennial Pro Bowler Walter Jones.

7.   Cleveland--Eric Berry--S--Tennessee--could possibly see a trade-down here.

8.   Oakland--Anthony Davis--OT--Rutgers--could also be Bruce Campbell or Jason Pierre-Paul, both workout warriors.

9.   Buffalo--Jimmy Clausen--QB--Buffalo--Chan Gailey says he won't select a QB, I think it's just a smokescreen.

10. Jacksonville--C.J. Spiller--RB--Clemson--Del Rio wants that 1-2 punch like the Panthers.

11. Denver--Dez Bryant--WR--Oklahoma State--With Marshall gone, they need a something close.

12. Miami--Dan Williams--NT--Tennessee--Dolphins need some youth on the nose. OLB is possible here too.

13. San Francisco--Joe Haden---CB--Florida--Niners want an OT but the top-4 are already gone.

14. Seattle--Brandon Graham--DE--Michigan--Patrick Kearney retired, Leroy Hill in trouble, need pass rushers.

15. N. Y. Giants--Rolando McClain--ILB--Alabama--G-Men run to the podium with this pick, just what they wanted.

16. Tennessee--Derrick Morgan--DE--Georgia Tech--Desperate for a pass rusher, didn't think he'd fall this far.

17. San Francisco--Earl Thomas--S--Texas--OT will have to wait, Thomas helps a lot.

18. Pittsburgh--Mike Iupati--G--Idaho--Pouncey or Damaryius Thomas also a possibility here.

19. Atlanta--Jason Pierre-Paul--DE--South Florida--Need a bookend for Abraham, huge upside but quite a risk too.

20. Houston--Kareem Jackson--CB--Alabama--Lost Robinson need a corner, need a RB too. Comes in round two.

21. Cincinnati--Demaryius Thomas--WR--Georgia Tech--Carson Palmer needs more weapons, Gresham is a maybe.

22. New England--Sergio Kindle--OLB--Texas--Pats need edge pass rushers, Kindle is perfect in this spot.

23. Green Bay--Kyle Wilson--CB--Boise State--Chas. Woodson is 33, Al Harris & his torn ACL is 35, enough said.

24. Philadelphia--Markice Pouncey--C/G--Florida--DE's & S's gone, Eagles turn to interior O-line needs.

25. Baltimore--Devin McCourty--CB--Rutgers--Ravens wanted another WR, but they need a corner too.

26. Arizona--Sean Weatherspoon--OLB--Missouri--Cards hold their breath waiting for 'Spoon.

27. Dallas--Taylor Mays--S--USC--one of two overrated prospects here, the other could be OT Bruce Campbell.

28. San Diego--Ryan Mathews--RB--Fresno State--Darren Sproles can't carry the load by himself.

29. N.Y. Jets--Jerry Hughes--OLB--TCU--Rex Ryan wants a pass rusher, Hughes is that guy.

30. Minnesota--Colt McCoy--QB--Texas--Top safeties & corners gone, go to next priority.

31. Indianapolis--Rodger Saffold--OT--Indiana--Home state guy moves up the road.

32. New Orleans--Daryl Washington--OLB--TCU--Super fast tackling machine, just what the Saints wanted.

That's it, no trades, even tho they will happen, just no way to forecast them. Enjoy the draft!
