JERRY, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? INFO ON KINDLE'S FALL.

In the press room last night, after the Cowboys had moved up to grab wide receiver Dez Bryant, Dallas owner Jerry Jones was asked about reports citing Bryant's tardiness issues. Jerry replied "We had a president that couldn't get there on time a lot, Bill Clinton. Seriously, but boy, when he got there he brought the wood." Just ask Monica Lewinsky.

Think the NFL isn't a big deal? The overnight Nielsen Ratings showed the draft coverage on ESPN & The NFL Network doubled the ratings of the NBA playoff games on TNT & ESPN.

I heard this morning on ESPN2's Miike & Mike in the Morning from the network's Adam Shefter a report that shed some light on the fall from the 1st round by Sergio Kindle. The Texas DE/OLB has a knee condition that could eventually require microfracture surgery, with a tough & lengthy rehab. Some teams had downgraded his reward vs. risk clear into the 3rd round, others weren't as concerned, but the fact that he fell out of the 1st round, tells me the concern is league-wide. Everyone had him somewhere in the 1st round. I think he'll go in the 1st 15 picks of round 2, someone will take a chance on this very productive college player.

Rumors have flown around all day that the Bills & browns have contacted the Rams to see just what they want for their 1st pick in the 2nd round. It would seem they might be interested in Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen. Minnesota picks 2nd in this round & they might want Clausen or Colt McCoy, so if Buffalo or Cleveland is serious about having their choice of these two QB's, they better get on it.

If everyone stays put, I could see the Rams & Buccaneers both going with a wide receiver which would eliminate both Golden Tate & Arrelious Benn most likely. The Chiefs would have to look elsewhere for a WR. Possibly Eric Decker or Andre Roberts in the 3rd round.

I got a load of comments & email this morning, if you've read my posts, you know I'm not a fan of Terrence Cody. Todd Haley had weight issues with Glenn Dorsey, Dwayne Bowe & Brandon Albert last year. They were Mr. Olympia compared to Cody. He came to Bama over 400 lbs. He played at 370 & has recently gotten down to 349. He only benched 22 reps, he's a 2-down player with very little stamina. It's tough to be an impact player over on the bench, down on one knee sucking wind. Poor conditioning is something to be wary of regarding Cody.

I'll put these names out there for tonight: Tate, Benn, Kindle(?), OT Rodger Saffold, TE Rob Gronkowski(back surgery in '09), OLB Koa Misi, NT Linval Joseph & NT Cam Thomas for our 2 second round picks.

In the third round, pick #68, I like TE Dennis Pitta, Eric Decker, Andre Roberts, NT Torell Troup or OT Jared Veldheer. Keep your emails & comments coming, but with the volume I'm receiving during draft week, I'll try to answer all of your questions right in in my twice daily posts. The last couple of posts have knocked my analysis of offensive prospects off the blog roll. If you want to access them, just click on the Archives file for April & you can read the offensive cheat sheets.
