BRANDON MARSHALL SIDELINED YET AGAIN & DWAYNE BOWE OPENS UP A HUGE CAN OF WORMS
When the Miami Dolphins traded for disgruntled wideout Brandon Marshall, they thought this was the beginning of the end of their receiver problems. The South Florida media called it "The Marshall Plan." Now it appears Marshall won't be available to the Dolphins until at least the start of training camp after undergoing his second hip surgery in 13 months. Head coach Tony Sparano had high hopes of Marshall forming a solid connection with Miami's young quarterback Chad Henne. That will have to wait a few more months.
Chad Ochocinco was eliminated from the Dancing With the Stars finale, so now he'll go to Cincinnati to rejoin his Bengal teammates in their OTA's right? Wrong, #85 will move right over to taping of the VH1 reality show The Tournament, a dating show. The millions the Bengals pay Ochocinco are somehow being put on the back burner while he tries to become a TV star. I wonder what the locker room talk about Chad is like in Cincy.
Our wide receiver trifecta continues with the Chiefs' Dwayne Bowe. In the new ESPN The Magazine, Bowe wins the TMI award for telling the mag about all the groupies veteran Chiefs' players arranged for while on the road his first 2 seasons in the league. He said the women were lined up on MySpace & Facebook, their rooms reserved in the team's hotel allowing for some "companionship" the night before a road game. Wonderful, it's easy to see why this team won only 6 games in two seasons isn't it? Herm Edwards really had his finger on the pulse of his team didn't he? This story breaks two days after Jets owner Woody Johnson trashed Edwards' coaching ability. I thought it was interesting that with Edwards in studio for NFL Live on ESPN this afternoon, this story wasn't discussed. Marshall & Ochocinco took a lot of heat, but nothing about Bowe's revelations even tho the story originated in their magazine.
