ANY DEFENSE IN STILLWATER TONIGHT? NOPE, INJURY UPDATES & YOUR "OFFICE POOL" PICKS

Whew, a whole lot of offense plus a bunch of turnovers, made for an entertaining, tho somewhat sloppy game tonight between Texas A&M & Oklahoma State. Cowboy placekicker Dan Bailey nailed a 40-yard field goal with no time left to lift OSU to a 38-35 win. There was 886 yards of total offense even with the Cowboys sleep-walking thru most of the first half. The Aggies led at halftime 21-7, then watched as OSU roared up & down the field for 21 unanswered 3rd quarter points. The Cowboy lead grew to 35-21 before they put it on cruise control, allowing A&M to score twice in the 4th, tying the game. A&M had a chance at midfield with about 30-seconds left when QB Jerrod Johnson threw his 4th interception of the game. It was returned nearly 40-yards & after a short pass & a 6-yard Kendall Hunter run, the Cowboys called their last timeout with :04 left on the clock. Enter Bailey, it's up, it's good. Johnson completed 40 of 62 passes for 409 yards & 5 touchdowns. But the 4 picks & a very costly fumble returned 63-yards for a score was the Aggies undoing.

Jason Whitlock, formerly of The Kansas City Star, now a writer for FOXSports.com, handed out a real jewel today. He referred to Shaun Smith, 325-lb Chiefs' defensive lineman with a reputation for grabbing his opponents in the "man region", as "Kansas City's Genital Giant." Love it.

Virginia Tech's super sophomore, Ryan Williams, will not play Saturday when the Hokies travel south to play North Carolina State. The 1,600+ yard rusher from last year is still nursing a strained hamstring that sidelined him 2 weeks ago.

Houston Texans All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson is looking more doubtful for Sunday's trip to Oakland. His ankle is worse than earlier in the week & coach Gary Kubiak said today "he's most likely a game time decision."

Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best is nursing a turf toe injury & hasn't practiced all week. Baltimore's Ray Rice returned to "limited practice", he's nursing a sore knee but says he will be ready to go on Sunday in a crucial showdown with Pittsburgh. Saints running back Pierre Thomas did not practice again on Thursday. Rams RB Steven Jackson hasn't practiced all week because of a strained groin muscle.  Cincinnati RB Cedric Benson returned to practice on Thursday, but his status for Sunday's game in Cleveland is questionable. Jets super corner, Darrelle Revis most likely will not play Sunday because of a hamstring issue.

Last week I went 12-4 with the "Office Pool" selections, hopefully somebody got a piece of something with them. Here we go for this week, KC, Dallas, Minnesota & Tampa are on their bye weeks, so we only have 14 games. Team in bold letters represent my selection.
