VIKINGS GO "ALL IN" AS MOSS RETURNS TO MINNESOTA & OTHER TUESDAY EVENING NEWS
Vikings owner Zygi Wilf has pushed all his chips into the pot, he wants to win right now. This move smacks of desperation, but he's making it anyway. His Vikings will complete a trade with the New England Patriots on Wednesday for wide receiver Randy Moss. Then Wilf will have to negotiate a new contract for Moss, good thing this is an uncapped year. With Brett Favre struggling without his go-to receiver, Sydney Rice, who won't return to the active roster until mid-season. Both Moss & Favre wanted to play together in Green Bay & when that didn't happen, it hastened Favre's 1st retirement, you know the one he did while with the Pack. What Wilf ought to trade for before the October 19th deadline is a right tackle that can pass block. Current starter Phillip Loadholt has really regressed since last year, he's given up too many sacks & QB hits. Look for Moss to move right into the Viking offense & play Monday night versus the Jets. Moss or no Moss, I see a 1-3 record for the Vikings after Monday night.

I told you this afternoon Panther WR Dwayne Jarrett would be out in Carolina & just after sundown, he was sent packing. The club said it had to do with his recent DUI, Jarrett's second in three years. But I think that's a smokescreen for his poor effort on Sunday, the DUI just made it legal. Carolina picked up David Clowney formerly with the Jets.
I also mentioned Colts' safety Melvin Bullitt & a possible season-ending injury. This evening, Indianapolis put him on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. They also put Devin Moore, their kick returner & 3rd string RB on injured reserve with a brachial plexus injury. That is a nerve bundle that controls motion from the spinal cord thru the arm pit & down the arm. The injury manifests itself as a tingling in the hand & makes gripping things(like a football) very difficult. Second RB Donald brown is already injured, he didn't dress for the Jacksonville game on Sunday. The Colts will be RB shopping on Wednesday.
Maybe they'll be interested in former Seattle RB Julius Jones. I said former because the Seahawks released him this afternoon. Picking up Marshawn Lynch from the Bills today made Jones expendable. I still don't understand why the Packers didn't outbid Seattle for Lynch.
Does any team in the league miss one player more than the Cardinals miss Kurt Warner? Their retired QB is now shakin' it on "Dancing With the Stars" & man do they miss him. Coach Ken Whisenhunt released Matt Leinart before the season began, choosing to start Cleveland castoff Derek Anderson instead. Now Anderson has been benched in favor of undrafted rookie Max Hall from BYU. Hall is smallish & the Arizona line isn't the best, so he might not last long.
