SUNDAY NOTES & PLAYS
Yesterday I split, the winners were easy, Navy getting 7 won straight up by 18 & Louisville giving 3, won 26-0. Washington was slaughtered at Arizona 44-14 & Georgia Tech lost at Clemson 27-13, neither was really in the game cover-wise. So losing just the vig was Saturday's outcome, let's try to get it back & more today.
Pittsburgh -3 1/2 at Miami
Steelers, a perfect 2-0 on the road, Dolphins also perfect at home, unfortunately that means they haven't won a home game. The Steelers are the best team in the NFL currently.
New England at San Diego over 47 1/2
Patriots leading the league in scoring at 31-points a game. Chargers in a do-or-die situation at 2-4. Neither team keeps their opponents off the scoreboard.
Minnesota +3 at Green Bay
Packers injury situation is critical, offensive line isn't giving Aaron Rodgers much time to throw. With the criticism Jared Allen has taken this week, I expect him to make his presence known. Favre isn't producing much, but I don't think it's going to take a lot tonight.
Kerry Collins will start for Tennessee today, Vince Young's ankle hasn't responded enough to allow him to play. Jason Campbell will start for the Raiders in Denver later this afternoon. Both Malcolm Floyd & Legedu Naanee will sit out San Diego's game with New England. The Ravens will activate Ed Reed & Brendon Ayanbadejo from the PUP list & they will play today. The Packers have chosen to not activate S Atari Bigby, CB Al Harris & RB James Starks from the PUP list. New Orleans will activate S Darren Sharper from the PUP list & he will also play this afternoon.
The Chiefs signed WR Verran Tucker from the practice squad & released Jeremy Horne, also a wide receiver. Wide receiver Chris Chambers is a healthy gameday inactive, meaning his spot in Todd Haley's doghouse continues. Rudy Niswanger is also inactive.
Tampa tight end Jeremy Stevens was de-activated by the team after he was arrested last night for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Really focused on today's game huh?
Look for Mizzou to climb in all three polls & could be as high as #7 in the BCS. More on all this & more tonight after football.
