INJURY NEWS, POSSIBLE CAM NEWTON SMEAR & THE OFFICE POOL PICKS

The Titans signed Randy Moss because they knew Kenny Britt, their leading receiver, will miss an additional 6-8 weeks with a severe hamstring pull. Charger tight end Antonio Gates had turf toe & now he has another foot ailment, a torn plantar fascia, that has kept him from practice this week. He would have to be considered doubtful for Sunday's game with Houston. Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck will not play this Sunday, his backup, Charlie Whitehurst, will get his first NFL start. Vikings WR Percy Harvin, hasn't practiced all week with an ankle sprain. Eagle WR DeSean Jackson looks to be ready for a return Sunday against the Colts. He suffered a "severe concussion" October 17th against the Falcons. He hasn't played since, but with a new helmet style, he feels safer now.

Kenny Wilkerson of WIST in New Orleans has reported Saints QB Drew Brees has a small fracture in his knee & a torn meniscus. Of his report, Wilkerson said it is "100-thousand-trillion-million % accurate." New Orleans coach Sean Payton stated Thursday Wilkerson's report was "completely inaccurate."

Is Jay Cutler this generation's Jeff George? Just askin'.

Saw something that concerned me this evening, two different mock drafts for next April & Mizzou's Aldon Smith was mentioned on both lists. The redshirt sophomore, still not 100% from his fractured tibia, could be eligible for the NFL draft as he will be 3-years removed from his high school graduation. I certainly hope he returns to Columbia for another season, as talented as he is, he's not NFL-ready yet.

Think Braylon Edwards doesn't have a monster ego & little accountability? I told you the Jet receivers really let down QB Mark Sanchez with a number of drops. They also gave up two interceptions that were literally ripped out of their hands by Green Bay defenders. Sanchez said Tuesday "we just didn't get it done, I made some poor reads, we didn't run the ball well enough & we dropped a couple of passes." Braylon Edwards threw his QB under the bus on Thursday with "you know when a QB's development gets to a point he makes very few mistakes, he then gains the trust of his receivers." News flash for Braylon, he's had "trust issues" his entire career because he's dropped a boatload of passes in his 6-year career. The drops are part of the reason Cleveland unloaded him last year.

The Chiefs-Raiders game this Sunday in the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum is a BFD. It's the most intriguing matchup in the AFC. It rekindles one of the oldest & most bitter rivalries, a rivalry that goes clear back to the AFL. My father taught me to dislike the Kansas Jayhawks, I learned to hate the Raiders all on my own. This game might mark the first time in 12 games the Raiders won't be blacked out on local TV. They have been granted a 24-hour extension to sell the remaining non-premium seats. In injury news, Jason Campbell will start at QB as Bruce Gradkowski's shoulder still isn't healed. All-pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomughu's ankle sprain should keep him sidelined Sunday. Tight end Zach Miller hasn't practiced with a foot sprain, but he played with it last week, so look for him to go on Sunday. The Chiefs' major injury, Dexter McCluster, who has a high ankle sprain, is doubtful. I don't look for him to return for another week or two. A guy who cuts as hard as McCluster does, he needs two healthy ankles. A good sign for the Chiefs? Kevin Harlan will call the game for CBS. He was the Chiefs radio play-by-play broadcaster for many of the Marty Schottenheimer victories over the Raiders. Marty owned the Silver & Black. If the Chiefs win, with their remaining schedule, the AFC West should be there's. But if Oakland can win their 3rd in a row, the division is totally up for grabs. KC would be 5-3, Oakland 5-4 & San Diego(with a win in Houston) would be 4-5, everybody would have a shot. Kansas City has won in Oakland every year since 2002, 7 in a row. Let's make it eight.

Now for the "Office Pool Picks", the team in bold letters is my pick to win, good luck!
