ROY WILLIAMS MUST BE SMOKIN' CRACK, COLT INJURY SITUATION REALLY BAD & SATURDAY PREVIEWS

I've ripped on the Dallas Cowboys enough, but when one of them steps up to a microphone & utters something so unbelievably stupid, I feel the need to let you in on it. Wide receiver Roy Williams told ESPN Dallas "We can go nine in a row, if you ask me. People call me stupid or whatever, but this football team has the core of players to win nine in a row." Roy, Roy, Roy, how's about you win one in a row? Tune in Sunday night on NBC for "Pride versus the Packers." I just spit up in my mouth a little.

Poor Colt McCoy, the rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns has had three starts this season, at Pittsburgh, at New Orleans(which they won) & this Sunday at home against New England. Pretty tough opponents for a guy's first 3 starts.

How bad is the Colts' injury situation? Today, they issued the following statement: "Offensive guard Jacques McClendon will wear #80 at Philadelphia & be listed as a tight end." That's ugly, Jacob Tamme is the only healthy real tight end. He caught his first pass of the season last Monday night. No Dallas Clark, no Austin Collie, Joseph Addai, Mike Hart or Anthony Gonzalez.

Jamaal Charles & Thomas Jones have been chosen for a real honor Thanksgiving night in Kansas City. They've been chosen to flip the switch to illuminate the famed Plaza lights. The million-plus lights have been switched on Thanksgiving night as long as I can remember & it's an honor to be chosen for this holiday tradition.

The Raiders beat the blackout, selling enough non-premium seats to lift what had been an 11-straight blackouts in Oakland.

Baylor  at  Oklahoma State
11:30 AM  FOXSports Midwest
The only decent game on in the morning, it's a battle for 1st place in the Big-12 South. When was the last time Baylor was in a game that meant anything to anybody? State's defense hasn't impressed anybody, surrendering 28 or more points in 5 of 8 starts. They held K-State to 14-points last week in Manhattan, so maybe they can keep Baylor & QB Robert Griffin III in check. The Cowboys have a very productive offense with RB Kendall Hunter & WR Justin Blackmon, all Big-12 talent. I just have a sneaking suspicion the Bears are going to pull an upset here.

TCU  at  Utah
2:30  CBSC-HD
This is a battle of two undefeated teams with an eye toward gaining a BCS Bowl bid as an at-large team. The winner has a legitimate shot. TCU has a better defense & it has great speed chasing the ball. Utah's big strength is it's depth. Playing at a 4,200-foot altitude takes a toll. The Horned Frogs played at 5,000-foot Colorado State October 2nd, but the Rams were hardly any competition. Utah has a very deep bench & Kyle Whittingham knows how to keep the pressure on visitors to Rice-Eccles Stadium. ESPN Game Day will broadcast from the parking lot. I see this as an ultra-close game with TCU notching their 10th win against no losses.

Alabama  at  LSU
2:30  CBS
Since I believe Bama is the best team in the country, there's not a thing you could say that would sway me off my prediction of another Crimson Tide victory. This game was originally scheduled to be a night game, LSU seldom loses on Saturday night in Baton Rouge. But for national television, the game was moved & with it, LSU's meager chance to win.

Arkansas  at  South Carolina
6:00 PM  ESPN
This could be a dandy, lots of offense, two good quarterbacks, two fine offensive-minded coaches. Razorbacks looking to win 10-games, this is a must if that is to happen. The Gamecocks beat then #1 Alabama, hung tough with Auburn right to the end & then blew a game at Kentucky by 3. Spurrier's the better coach & they're at home so I'd give S.C. a slight advantage.

Missouri  at  Texas Tech
7:00 PM  ABC
(in the Eastern & Central time zones)
The Tigers need to rebound after their poor showing last week in Lincoln. They need four solid quarters & a win in Lubbock. Mizzou handled Tech even when Mike Leach was the coach, home, away, it didn't make any difference & frankly the games weren't close. Tommy Tuberville has been a disappointment to many Tech alums. Most impressive win was a 45-38 victory over Baylor, worst performance was a 52-38 drubbing at Iowa State. Tech has been beaten by 10, 14, 17 & 18 points, get 'em down & they go away. Mizzou by 10 points.

Texas  at  Kansas State
7:00 PM  ESPN2

Neither team is bowl eligible, Horns are 4-4, Cats 5-3. It's hard to say if either or both have underachieved or just don't have the horses to compete with their Big-12 brethren. The outcome of this game will be determined by the matchup of K-State's O-line against Texas' front-7. Cats strong suit is running the ball & the Longhorns do a good job of stopping it. I think K-State wins in this spot, in a real squeaker.

Arizona  at  Stanford
7:00 PM  ABC
(in the Pacific & Mountain time zone)
QB Nick Foles is supposed to play tomorrow night in Palo Alto. I think Mike Stoops has a solid defense, but on the road against the best QB in college football, Andrew Luck, I don't see Arizona coming away with a road win. Stanford by 10.
