"NEGOTIATING IS BETTER THAN LITIGATING"
Those are the words of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell after ownership agreed to a 7-day extension proposed by federal mediator George Cohen. NFLPA leader DeMaurice Smith told NFL fans everywhere "we're not going to let you down." The word out of today's meetings was that Smith made a positive impression on league owners in attendance. Maybe, just maybe, when they begin again on Monday, they can make enough progress to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For now anyway, there's no lockout, no union de-certification & no bad quotes coming from both sides. That's about all we can ask for right now.
