OHIO STATE IMPOSES 2-GAME SUSPENSION & $250,000 FINE ON TRESSELL........MORE TO COME FROM NCAA?

Jim Tressel is "disappointed in himself" & takes his responsibility at Ohio State "tremendously seriously." Alrighty. Was he disappointed because he failed to tell the compliance office or the athletic director or because an internal audit found a couple of those tell-tale emails revealing he knew about his "Tattoo-Gate" players way back in April of 2010? He was suspended for the first two games of next season, non-conference games with Toledo & Akron, MAC stiffs paid to come to Columbus to be slaughtered by the mighty Buckeyes(Toledo was paid $975K for their 100-mile trip to Columbus but they refused Boise State's request for $1 million to play a competitive game?).

Let's be clear, the punishment meted out today was imposed by the University, not the NCAA. They have yet to rule on Tattoo-Gate II, no word on how long it will take the powerful sanctioning body to decide if more is needed to drive home the point Tressel willingly committed these infractions. He didn't make a mistake, Tressel isn't an idiot, he chose to hide what could only be perceived as major violations in his program. His demeanor during the press conference was of a kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, not a sincerely remorseful adult who knew exactly what he was doing. I've always been skeptical of the Ohio State program, they're always overrated & they constantly under perform. If not for a really bogus pass interference penalty in overtime of the 2002 BCS title game, the Buckeyes would never have won a BCS Championship. Rated in the top-5 season after season, they fail to produce when faced with real competition.
