TUESDAY EVENING QUICK NOTES

Terrelle Pryor has informed "The" Ohio State University he's "outta here." No big surprise he went back on his word to stay for his senior season. He could be in for the shock of his life when he goes in the 4th-5th round of July's NFL Supplemental Draft. It's different from April's draft in that only a handful of players are available, usually players who have been suspended or outright dismissed from their program. An NFL team using a pick in the supplemental draft, loses the corresponding pick in next April's draft. There isn't a way in hell Pryor goes any higher than the 3rd round & honestly, I think he'll go somewhere after the start of 4th round. More later tonight.

Things are getting really sticky at the University of West Virginia. "Head Coach in Waiting", former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Dana Holgerson could be in trouble after a couple of "drunken public scenes." There are rumors swirling out of Morgantown that head coach Bill Stewart may have directed a local newspaper reporter to follow Holgerson & document anything bad. More later tonight.

The NFL & the players had another secret meeting today, there might be hope yet.

Some of the fallout from yesterday's BCS bombshell when they officially revoked the 2004 national championship from the USC Trojans. Matt Leinart said today, "it's O.K., we know we're the champs." It's O.K.? What part of this is O.K.? Another part of this story is the Downtown Athletic Club has yet to receive Reggie Bush's Heisman Trophy from the same season. Bush said months ago he would send the trophy back to the New York based body. The most prestigious college award, is now AWOL. Reggie's father walked into the San Diego Hall of Awards & left with Reggie's copy of the trophy. USC crated their Heisman & sent it back the day after Bush said he was returning his.

Tommy Tuberville, now coach at Texas Tech, once again is lobbying for his 2004 undefeated Auburn Tigers. They finished 13-0 but were denied a chance to win the BCS title. The Tigers finished 2nd in the AP & BCS polls after the postseason. BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock said the 2004 national championship would be vacated, there would be no champ.

After suffering thru the 1-year Lane Kiffin mess & then the Bruce Pearl basketball controversy, University of Tennessee Athletic Director Mike Hamilton is out. More later tonight.

North Carolina Athletic Director Dick Baddour confirmed today the University has received a "Notice of Formal Inquiry" from the NCAA. The sanctioning body is investigating 14 players suspended anywhere from 1 game to forever last season in the Tar Heel football program. More later tonight.

USC, Ohio State, Tennessee & North Carolina have all felt the wrath of the NCAA for various forms of misconduct. How about the Texas Longhorns? They may see investigators down the road as well & they could have Rachel McCoy to thank. Mrs. Colt McCoy, appearing on Colin Cowherd's ESPN radio show this morning might have spilled the beans on a lot of free dinners received by football players while she was dating Colt back in Austin. More later tonight.
