FORGET ABOUT AUBRAYO FRANKLIN, JUST NOT GONNA HAPPEN

My hopes of signing one of the league's premiere run-stuffing, space eating nose tackles is dead. Aubrayo Franklin will not become a Chief, unless his value drops to nearly nothing. I don't see that happening, San Francisco will resign him if the price is drops far enough. The Chiefs made their major move this morning to cure the nose tackle vacancy by signing 12-year veteran Kelly Gregg. The former Baltimore Raven starter was released on Tuesday in a cap purge of veteran players. Gregg was a productive, stabilizing force in the middle of the Ravens' defense. He underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee in 2008 but has played in every game since then. Gregg will certainly be asked to be the starter, the only true nose tackle on Kansas City's roster is rookie Jerrell Powe & it's also certain Gregg will quickly become a teacher for Powe. The 6' 0" 315-pound Gregg played his college football at Oklahoma. He becomes just the third defensive lineman on the Chiefs' roster with any NFL game experience. Only Glenn Dorsey & Tyson Jackson have logged any playing time during the NFL regular season. How scary is that? Gregg, who will turn 35 in November will sign a 1-year contract after passing his physical. He started in 7 of his 10-years in Baltimore.
