I'M TOO TIRED TO RANT & RAVE ABOUT CHIEFS PERFORMANCE, SO JUST THE FACTS
The Chiefs have been outscored 70-23 in three preseason games.
The Rams rushed for 170-yards, Kansas City 58. Stephen Jackson 15 carries for 72-yards & Cadillac Williams 12 for 53.
Matt Cassel has 42 total snaps in three games, Sam Bradford had 42 in the first half tonight.
Tyson Jackson & Glenn Dorsey were pushed all over the lot, neither came close to a tackle.
Cornerback Brandon Flowers did not play. I warned you about a leg injury.
Jamal Charles did play, he has 6 total carries in 3 games good for 16 yards. He & Dexter McCluster missed blitz pickups, which could get Matt Cassel hurt.
Jared Gaither played the entire 3rd quarter & was flagged for holding on his 2nd snap.
Derrick Johnson looks better every week, he could have a Pro Bowl type of season. Led the team in tackles, got the lone sack, a tackle for loss & made a sensational interception at the 8-yard line. He closes on the ball so quickly, I really like D.J.'s game.
Like many of his defensive teammates, the only time you saw Andy Studebaker was when Steven Jackson was stiff-arming him into the Arrowhead turf.
Jackie Battle put the ball on the ground twice, both recovered by teammates, that's 3 times in 3 games. He gained 43-yards on 13 carries.
Rookies Justin Houston, Allen Bailey & Jerrell Powe made good penetration, disrupting plays.
Rookie fullback Shane Bannon is toast, missed a block that allowed Robert Quinn to block a point-blank field goal attempt by Ryan Succop. Later he jumped off sides when the Rams were in punt formation at the end of the game.
Rookie C-G Rodney Hudson looked very good playing LG & C except for one play & it was costly. He was nailed for holding on an 8-yard Jamal Charles touchdown run, nullifying the play.
Let's talk holding shall we? Gaither 1, Hudson 1, David Mims 1, Barry Richardson 3. Brandon Albert was tossed aside for a sack too. The flag on Mims negated a 29-yard gain on a Stanzi to Verran Tucker pass play. One of Richardson's was declined as the guy he was blocking(Robert Quinn) sacked Matt Cassel on the play.
Sam Bradford was 8 of 8 with two touchdown passes on the Rams first two possessions.
Kendrick Lewis & Eric Berry were fooled badly on a play-action pass inside the ten, Mike Sim-Walker was wide open in the endzone.
The Chiefs were flagged for delay of game after calling consecutive timeouts.
Moeaki, Tucker & Colbert were targeted 8 times, zero completions.
Ricky Stanzi had his best performance of the preseason, no picks & a beautiful 32-yard touchdown pass to TE Cody Slate.
Tyler Palko hit Dexter McCluster twice with swing passes out of the backfield. He also connected on consecutive plays to Jeremy Horn for 46-yards.
Dustin Colquitt is a helluva a directional punter. Kicking 7 times, he stuck 5 of them inside the 20 & 4 of those inside the ten. The Chiefs have scored 1 more point than Colquitt has punted, 23 to 22.
Linebacker Micah Johnson was having a good outing, 4 tackles, 1 for loss, when he jumped off sides as St. Louis was preparing to punt, giving them a 1st down.
Once again there was no positive news regarding their return game, kickoff or punt.
For a guy who goes for 4th down a lot, Todd Haley decided to attempt a field goal with 3:13 left in the game, trailing 14-10 in a meaningless game. Fourth & goal from the 3-yard line or kick it? You make the call.
Officials blew two non-calls against the Rams. Tamba Hali was held, then drug to the ground rushing the passer & Terrence Copper was hit after 5-yards, held & then hit before the ball arrived. No flags.
That's the facts, anything more would be pure opinion & I know some of you are resistant to that, blissful in your belief this team will repeat as Western Division Champs. Far be it from me to rain on your parade, I just report the facts.

Much as I hate to admit this, your correct about the state of our football team. I'm scared.
