COLLINS CLEARED, INJURY REPORT & A VINCE YOUNG WANNABE IS FINALLY BEHIND BARS
Cincinnati offensive tackle Anthony Collins was in Jerome Simpson's home Tuesday morning when John Law descended on the place. A package Simpson's girlfriend signed for turned out to contain 2.5 pounds of pot, plus the cops found 6 additional pounds in the home. Anyway, it turns out Collins was just stopping by the Simpson home on his way to practice. He has never lived at this address. Soooo, it appears the weight belongs to Simpson & his lady. He hasn't practiced all week & the Bengals needed him, WR Jordan Shipley is injured & unable to practice or play.
Did you know the Lions haven't started a season 3-0 since 1980. Wish I had spotted that 31-year trend before picking them this Sunday against Minnesota. Probably still would have, but it would've been cool to know.
The Jets won't have all-pro center Nick Mangold, he's out for a few weeks with a high ankle sprain. Taking his spot on Sunday against the Raiders will be Colin Baxter, an undrafted free agent from Arizona. He wasn't even property of New York until after the cutdown to 53, he was claimed on waivers. Needless to say, Baxter doesn't have a lot of time working with his new line mates. Wayne Hunter is a little shaky out at right tackle since replacing Damien Woody. matching up against a very aggressive Oakland defensive line could pose a problem.
Ravens' WR Lee Evans has been battling a bad ankle for two weeks, but not Sunday, he's out. The Chargers have three starters listed as doubtful on Friday. WR Malcolm Floyd, DE Corey Liuget & safety Bob Sanders have a very slim chance of playing against Kansas City. TE Antonio Gates is questionable with an injured foot. The Broncos will sideline WR Eddie Royal & WR Brandon Lloyd is questionable with a groin injury.
Kansas State plays the "U" today in Miami. The Hurricanes will be without offensive tackles Malcom Bunche & Seantrel Henderson. Still going to be a steep climb for the Wildcats.
A young Pennsylvania man has been passing himself off as Vince Young. He has been soliciting funds for the real Vince Young's foundation. He even poses for pictures with hospitalized children, signing autographs for them. How freakin' low is this? You steal money intended sick kids & then AND THEN you pose for pictures with the very kids you're ripping off??????? Good news, he was arrested Friday morning. His real name is Stephan Piittman & I hope he finds true love while he's incarcerated. WHAT A SCUMBAG!

We're hosting an old friend & his son this weekend, so I might be M.I.A. until Sunday night, depends on Budweiser consumption tonight. Hope the Tigers allow me to drink in a celebratory fashion, not to drown my sorrows. I'm not holding my breath.
