NFL WEEK 7, WHAT I SAW PART II

For those who tried listening to my radio show tonight, it didn't happen. When Rance Burger & I showed up to do the show, we found my producer was nowhere to be found. No call, no show, so we were sent home unable to do the broadcast. I was pretty happy with this since no one called me before I got cleaned up, drove 45-minutes to get there with my swollen jaw from an abscess tooth. So I apologize to those of you who listen regularly. We'll be back at next Monday evening. Now for the rest of NFL week 7.

Talk about boring offense, Seattle, Baltimore & Tennessee all with less than 150-yards total.
Seattle(137), Baltimore(146) & Tennessee(147) bored fans to death from coast to coast. Seattle I could see, they're nothing to write home about anyway plus they have numerous offensive injuries. But I have to tell you watching Joe Flacco, Ray Rice & company tonight was shocking. They faced a fired up Jaguar squad but c'mon, it was the Jaguars. The Ravens are supposed to be one of the elite teams in the AFC. They looked anything but elite tonight. They couldn't run the ball, protect Flacco or keep from being penalized(10 for 85-yards). The Jags offense consisted of 93-yards passing by Blaine Gabbert & 132-yards rushing to go with 4 Josh Scobe field goals, 3 of them over 50-yards. The Titans failed to show up yesterday, mustering only 147 total yards while getting clobbered by Houston 41-7. Tennessee has been a tough team to figure & I still haven't gotten a grip on them so far this season.

How do you have over 42-minutes of possession & only score 6 freakin' points?
I honestly don't have an answer to that question, ask Fred Shurmur & his Cleveland Browns.

Cam's Panthers roll the banged up Redskins.
Cam newton has far surpassed most people's expectations & yesterday he took to another level beating Washington 33-20. Once again he was a threat throwing & running. Newton completed 18 of 23 for 256-yards & a touchdown. He also ran 10-times for 59-yards & another score. The Panthers ran for 175-yards & when they run the ball effectively & eliminate the turnovers, they're a very competitive team. The promising start of Mike Shanahan's Redskins is beginning to fade. He changed QB's this week with John Beck taking over for Rex Grossman & Beck played all right. Unfortunately for Beck & the Skins they lost WR Santana Moss to a broken hand & RB Tim Hightower tore his right ACL. Moss will miss 5-7 weeks after undergoing surgery Monday, Hightower will go on I.R. Middle linebacker London Fletcher left the game with a strained hamstring.

Big Ben has another big day, this one against the Cards.
For the 2nd time in three weeks, Big Ben Rothlisberger went off passing the ball. He completed 26 passes for 361-yards & 3 touchdowns. Mike Wallace had a 95-yard catch & run touchdown, longest in franchise history. Playing without defensive starters Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton & James Harrison, Pittsburgh held the Cardinals to just 73-yards rushing. The Steelers face the most important part of their schedule in the next three weeks playing New England & Baltimore at Heinz Field & then traveling to Cincinnati. After what we saw tonight, the Ravens suddenly look very beatable.
