EXTENSIVE NFL INJURY REPORT & SOME COLLEGE PREVIEWS

Fantasy football owners & those who enjoy a wager from time to time, here's the most up to date injury information I have.

Browns RB Peyton Hillis aggravated his hamstring strain in Friday's practice & is very doubtful for not only this Sunday, but next week as well.

NY Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw has a foot injury & will miss their game at New England. Brandon Jacobs has been bellyaching about not getting his share of carries, well he'll get them Sunday, let's see what he does with them. WR Hakeem Nicks is doubtful with a knee injury. Center David Baas will also be sidelined with a knee injury.

Arizona QB Kevin Kolb is doubtful, RB Beanie Wells is questionable & OLB Joey Porter is out for their game with St. Louis.

Sam Bradford had limited participation at Thursday & Friday practice. He is questionable. Officially out for St. Louis is WR Danario Alexander(hamstring) & RT Jason Smith(concussion).

RB Mark Ingram will not play for the Saints this Sunday when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucs RB LeGarrette Blount will start after missing the past two games.

Two major offensive cogs for the Raiders won't play Sunday against Denver. PL Sebastian Janikowski & RB Darren McFadden will be inactive.

Texans will play their 4th consecutive game without all-world wide receiver Andre Johnson. His hamstring pull isn't quite ready to go full speed.

Cincinnati middle linebacker Rey Maualuga wil miss Sunday's game at Tennessee with an ankle sprain.

In the Sunday night game, Steelers' WR Emmanuel Sanders won't play, he's in Texas dealing with the death of his mother on Thursday. OLB Lamar Woodley is out with a strained hamstring. His bookend, OLB James Harrison practiced all week & should play. WR Hines Ward had limited participation in Pittsburgh practices, but I doubt his ankle sprain will keep him from playing Sunday night. C-G Doug Legursky is out with turf toe. The Ravens are in pretty good shape injury-wise.

Three Chiefs were fined $5,000 each for wearing red socks that weren't official uniform components. Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Carr & Brandon Flowers received the news on Friday. I told Linda during the game they'd get nailed & they did.

USC rolled over Colorado tonight 42-17 with QB Matt Barkley setting a school record with 6 touchdown passes for the Trojans. He completed 25 of 39 for 318-yards. USC also ran for 243 in a game that was close only for a quarter.

Another male ESPN employee has been charged with a stupid sexual allegation. What the hell goes on at that network? A former vice-president, Keith Clinkscales, was charged by Joan Lynch, another ESPN employee, of fondling himself on an airplane while he was seated next to Erin Andrews. Clinkscales attorney filed suit against Ms. Lynch for defamation of character. The suit alleges Ms. Lynch had accused Clinkscales of sexual harassment back in 2007 & it also claims she has a vendetta against Clinkscales because he is African-American & she believed he got his promotion because of his race. Ms. Lynch's attorney has no comment. Since I have no knowledge of what really transpired, I won't begin to have an opinion, except to say "Don't be peepin' at Erin, don't fondle yourself around Erin, just don't mess with Erin!"

Here's a few college previews for Saturday:

Texas Tech at Texas 11:00 on FX
Tech beats OU in Norman then gets flogged at home by Iowa State, tough team to figure. But they have the weapons to beat the Longhorns & if they can get ahead, Texas doesn't throw the ball well enough to play catch-up. But Texas runs the ball really well, they've gotten better & better as the season progresses. I like Texas in a very close game.

Texas A&M at Oklahoma 2:30 on ABC or ESPN2(depending on your market)
The Aggies should have finished off Mizzou last week because they're going to get pounded at Norman. I like OU by 4 touchdowns.

Mizzou at Baylor 6:00 on FOXSports regional networks
If the Tigers can disrupt RG3, they can win this game, but if he's allowed to sit in the pocket undisturbed, he can wreak havoc on almost any defense. They've got to flush him out & hit him hard when he gets outside the pocket, something Griffin hates. Baylor's defense isn't special & Mizzou should be able to score in the high thirties in Waco. I like the Tigers by a touchdown.

Kansas State at Oklahoma State 7:00 ABC or ESPN2(depending on your market)
I think the second half the Sooners unleashed last Saturday in Manhattan(35 unanswered points) will carry over against OSU, another deadly offensive squad the Wildcats won't be able to stay with. Cowboys by 24.

Oregon at Washington 9:30PM on FOXSports Regional networks
Late night start in a game that won't be as competitive as it's been billed. Vegas has the line at 161/2 & I think it will be worse than that. Ducks by 24.

LSU at Alabama 7:00  on CBS
A rare primetime Broadcast for CBS, but it's appropriate, #1 LSU visiting #2 Alabama. I'm certain if you've watched any ESPN or picked up a sports page, you know a lot about this matchup, so I won't go over it again. If the Crimson Tide protects the ball, I think they win. If LSU creates 2-3 turnovers, they win. That's how close the margin for victory is in this game IMO. The road team has a 27-13 record in this series but the home team has won the last two. I think Nick Saban is one of the all-time best "Big Game" college coaches I've ever seen. LSU's Les Myles is one of the most unpredictable play callers I've ever seen in college football, you just don't know what he'll do from one snap to the next. LSU's defense is faster & better on the perimeter while Bama is the best in the nation defending the run, especially up the middle, where they're big, quick & extremely well prepared. I'm taking Bama in a close, low-scoring game.

Got the feeling Boise State may just run up a really ugly score in Las Vegas. The #5 Broncos are playing UNLV, a 2-5 team with 5 players suspended this week. Boise needs some style points if they are to stay ahead of the LSU/Bama loser. IMO, unless the loser gets blown out, they'll fall no further than #4, so Boise needs those style points if they hope to move up in the BCS standings.

Another game I expect to get out of hand will be #13 Houston visiting 1-7 UAB. After scoring 56, 49, 56, 63 & 73 in their last five starts, Houston wants to get into the top-10 & pounding the punchless Blazers is just another step. If you recall, Cougars QB Case Keenum threw nine touchdown passes last week against Rice. He might come close to that total in Birmingham tonight.
